Well, just a normal person who finds good work in and out of NG for reference and inspiration for improvement and also help to review and rate for it. I am mostly in NG just to critique, other than that I am just a lurker, a shadow in NG. I procrastinate

How I Rate

2014-08-11 21:02:06 by Zacktan

I am a critic that rate and review fairly on games and animation with reasons. I help to give detailed advises on how to improve the storyline, visuals, etc of animations, games and other forms of art inside and outside of newgrounds on a viewer and gamer stand point, especially on ameatur works and games that had not been published or put to public yet. Also as I am always been busy else where and is actually a person who is too lazy to do anything that is not in front of my face when I am in front of my computer and because of that, it is also one of the reasons why I am mostly in newground just to critique if I am free, other than that I am just a lurker and a shadow in newgrounds.

As an observer I keep seeing an increasing trend of people reviewing animaton based on their personal reasons such as their own attention span, emotions, interest Rather than the quality, skills and the efforts put into the animation by the animators in an animators animation submmission site. Which is a little immature and unprofessional in my opinion as a critic. After all, I personally think that an animation should not be judge base on the viewer's own problems. For example, you can't blame a beauitiful animation for being bad just because you have your own problems such as being colour blind, deaf, low attention span, having assumptions, or having trouble playing the video. It's similar to the example of telling to the people who likes to eat curry that curry taste like shit or similar to the situation of blaming a beautiful babe for not suiting a person's taste because the person have a short penis. (pardon me). People shouldn't judge too much on an animation base on their own opinion and interest here. For example you can't blame a game or a story for being predictable unless the game is a detective game that purposely wants you to predict the outcome, or a person can't blame a drama or a slow building animation for being bad, just because the person prefer more on action and excitement genres. As what many had said, I advise such people to go watch something else that suit their interest and genre more than just stay and complain about it. It's similar to the example of what I just said about the curry part. Generally, as seeing more and more of such people who rate animations in such ways really gave me an impression of those people being like small kids whining on what they don't like. Afterall, I view animations as a medium for people to transfer and visualise their ideas and opinions, and since different people have different opinions, we should respect that and not just blame, complain and whine for their opinions not being similar.

Also, because that I think there are too many pessimistic bigot reviewers here that criticise unfairly rather than giving advises or constructive criticism that respect the animators in an animator's animation submission site, that I rather choose to just being a critic than being an animator here. Therefore, I choose not post to any of my works here in newgrounds. Than again, maybe that it's just how they review just don't suit my style of doing it and besides, seeing how newground is now, I prefer giving reviews than getting it. :)
